Journal Square resident Jimmy King was one of the 44 people arrested by the FBI this morning for alleged corruption. Just a few of weeks ago, King filed a lawsuit against Ward C councilwoman Nidia Lopez challenging her residency.

Here"s why King was arrested, according to PolitickerNJ.com:

According to a federal complaint, a cooperating witness was introduced to King by two unnamed people – a consultant and Jersey City official involved with the Housing Authority and school board.  They allegedly agreed to accept $5,000 on behalf of king for help with zoning changes for a Garfield Avenue property if he was elected to the council

Complaint against King can be downloaded HERE (PDF)
