The City of Jersey City will plant a tree in your sidewalk for only $100. That includes cutting the hole in the concrete and planting a 3"-3.5" tree of your choice. There are 7 different varieties to choose from and there are photos and tree descriptions in this PDF: http://tinyurl.com/2g37rxe
The city tends to keep these initiatives rather quiet so I thought it would be helpful to spread the word. This is a generous offering from the city and a great way to fill in the empty areas of our neighborhood streetscape, help the environment and increase your
property value.
What do you have to do to have a tree planted in your sidewalk? Just fill out the simple application and send it to the city BY FRIDAY NOV 5th along with a check for $100.
