burger-king-stand-offIf yesterday's news was about JCPD vs JCPA, today, a tow-truck and a utility truck made the news.

A standoff between the truck drivers started this morning at the parking lot of Burger King on Summit Avenue, Jersey City (map)when E-Z towing company said the utility truck was parked illegally. The driver of utility truck said his passenger was a paying customer "and that he had parked the truck there to fix the truck tire."

The standoff lasted for 4 hours, news said, when the towing company let go the other vehicle.

I was in the vicinity (Pavonia Avenue) when this happened, but I missed it because I took the JFK when I walked back home.

A standoff between a tow-truck driver and a man who refused to leave his utility truck ended at about 2:20 p.m., when the tow-truck driver, who would only gave his name as Hector, relented and allowed Carl Pinzon to leave.

Hector said E-Z Towing would be taking Pinzon to small claims court in order to get compensation for his time. Before letting Pinzon off the hook, he told him not to come back to Burger King again.
