Water Main Break: Newark Avenue

Water main break on Newark Avenue, Jersey City

Do you have water in your area? Is it dirty? Brown maybe?

Portion of west-bound lane on Newark Avenue near Five Corners here in Journal Square is blocked off due to water main break. United Water is fixing it as of writing (5:10PM). The cop manning the repair told me that water was not shut though, and it should be done by today.

Last night - before 9PM

West-bound Newark Avenue is open to traffic this morning. There was no barricade and/or orange cones blocking off traffic from Summit Avenue and Five Corners.

The photo above was taken last night, before 9PM. This morning, I saw the hole was patched up, and it was surrounded by cones. I’m not sure if United Water is still going to work on it so I guess motorists just have to go around it to pass.
