Jersey City Elections 2009 are over, and the poll results show that Nidia R. Lopez convincingly beat Jimmy King (endorsed by Jersey Journal) for Jersey City Ward C Council. Lopez leads King by approximately 700 votes and collected more than 50% of the turnout, therefore, avoiding a runoff.
Nidia Lopez will replace the outgoing councilman Steve Lipski, a Journal Square resident who did not seek re-election this year due to number controversies around him.
Congratulations, Nidia Lopez! And Best of luck representing Journal Square!
