I’ve learned that the planting event last week, Saturday (May 9, 2009), on the square was a success. It was over when I came but I got the chance to meet Mr. Chris Bernardo, Operations Manager of Journal Square SID, and he shared some pictures of the event.

Via email, Chris reminded me of another cleanup event, this time at the Old Bergen Church: “if you’re around this Saturday, come join us at the Old Bergen Church cemetery on the corner of Bergen and Highland…we’re doing a clean-up with volunteers from the Hudson County Genealogy Society and Community Solutions…the event will be from 9am-12pm.” (Del: Is Speer Cemetery included?)
So if you’re free this weekend morning, checkout the group and volunteer. (Don’t forget, Saturday is also the “2nd Annual Everything Jersey City Festival” which starts at 11AM.)
