There were several fire trucks and police cars around Journal Square PATH Station when I drove by this afternoon (no Pics due to rain). And according to PATH Alerts, a smoke condition caused suspension of all train service at JSQ station, Jersey City.
Below are the two PATH Alerts concerning today’s incident:
All PATH service is temporarily suspended, due to a smoke condition at Journal Square.
Alert at 1:58PM.
Concerning PATH full service suspension: NJT is cross-honoring bus, rail, light-rail.
Alert at 2:25PM
According to news, an electrical fire occurred which shuts down the entire system. Fire is now under control but officials are “in the process of finding a generator to restore power to the affected control panel and get service back up.”
