Memorial Service for Marc DiNardo

People already lined up outside before 1PM

Expect heavy traffic and more people in Journal Square today starting 1PM as there will be a memorial service and public viewing for Detective Marc DiNardo. He was shot in a shootout last week, and was taken off life support a couple of days ago.

Public viewing at McLaughlin Funeral Home
Address: 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City 07306 (just across PATH Station)
When: July 23, 2009 1PM – 9PM

Funeral Mass at St. Aedan Church
When: July 24, 2009 1030AM (procession from McLaughlin Funeral Home begins at 930 AM)

TRAVEL ADVISORY: Due to the Wake and Funeral of the Jersey City Police Officer, if you are traveling with vehicles in the vicinity of the PATH Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City, please allow additional travel time on Thursday July 23, 2009 between the hours of 11:00am and 11:00pm, and on Friday July 24, 2009 between the hours of 8:00am and 12 noon.

Temporary no parking zones from 6AM – 2PM July 24, 2009 for the funeral mass and procession:

• Montgomery Street from Summit Avenue to Kennedy Boulevard
• Bergen Avenue from Sip Avenue to Fairmount Avenue
• Tuers Avenue from Mercer Street to Montgomery Street
• Glenwood Avenue from Bergen Avenue to Kennedy Boulevard
• Mercer Street from Summit Avenue to Bergen Avenue
• Tuers Avenue from Vroom Street to Mercer Street
• Cornelison Avenue from Bright Street to Fairmount Avenue

Street Closings
The following streets will be closed starting 8AM July 24, 2009 until the procession passes through. Traffic will be back to normal after the mass and procession:
