A one-alarm fire displaces Jersey City family

October 19, 2009, 8:58AMJersey City firefighters were called to a one-alarm fire that displaced a family from their apartment at 2814 Kennedy Bouelvard, Saturday night.
Fire investigators believe that blaze was caused by a candle that was burning in the bedroom of the third-floor apartment. The fire caused heavy damage to the room, forcing the family to stay with friends, Fire Director Armando Roman said.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 9:13 p.m. and had the fire under control at 9:51 p.m.
