Crossing John F. Kennedy Boulevard? Don’t forget to look left and right before doing so! According to Hudson News, “Kennedy Boulevard and Avenue C are Hudson County’s most dangerous roads for pedestrians ….”
…The Tri-State Transportation Campaign released an analysis of pedestrian deaths from 2006 to 2008.
There were 22 pedestrian casualties during that time period. Four of those casualties, all in 2007, happened on Kennedy Boulevard, with two in both Jersey City and Union City and one in Bayonne….
Here in Journal Square area, I remember one woman who was struck by a truck last September at the corner of JFK Blvd and Newark Avenue. News said that she’s been moved to ICU of JC Medical Center the following day.
Do you feel nervous walking by the boulevard? To me, the intersection of Sip Avenue-JFK Boulevard is hard to cross: the road is wider, the drivers always try to run the red light, and vehicles are piling up especially during the afternoon rush hour!
