Dickinson High School (Journal Square area) was outmatched in tonight’s basketball game when they visited rival Hudson Catholic Regional High School (McGinley Square area). The final score was 64-53.
Hudson Catholic’s uptempo game gave them an early 11-2 lead in the first quarter, and the cushion was enough to squash Dickinson’s rallies led by Shaquan Scott (see photo above).
DHS was within a striking distance by the end of 3rd quarter, but was held scoreless in the first couple of minutes of the fourth canto when Hudson Catholic established a double-digit lead. DHS applied full court pressure and managed to cut the lead to 8, but a 3-pt play by Hudson Catholic with about two and a half minutes left sealed the game.
Dickinson HS move down to the standings with a 5-7 win-loss record. Their next game will be on Thursday, January 28, 2009 at 7PM against the visiting Bayonne High School.
