[...] However, other crimes such as robbery, muggings, bomb scare, car break-ins, etc are still prevalent in our section. Unfortunately, It’s hard to track/document these as JCPD database is divided into four parts: north, south, east, west. Since JSQ is in the heart of JSQ, crime reports for our area are recorded in various parts. I am sure there were even unreported incidents. [...]

Nice to see you here WiredJC!

I really don't know how long the "interview" process take, my educated guess is it depends on the incident. This one was the first time I called the cops re: crime , so I really do not have a legit comparison. (I think I am a regular caller of JCPA though, as I complain a lot re: drivers who illegally park in front of our driveway! :P )

When I reported this one, it took only about 5-8 minutes (I had to call 9-1-1 first because I have the wrong number in my address book  ). All the cop needed to hear was, the victim wasn't me. Then she proceeded to tell me that she had to talk to the old man, who at that time, already decided to go home. To cut the long story short, reporting = fail, since I was not the victim of the incident.

Good advice indeed. Every attempted crime must be reported, if for no other reason than to keep the database accurate. JSQ, can you explain in more detail what reporting it to the police entails? How long does the "interview" process take, etc.

this is horrible. I am definately very alert and I suggest my fellow residents do the same. I hope there is an increased police pressence in Jsq especially with all of the muggings and robberies.
