According to the Jersey Journal yesterday, a 17-year old was accused of shooting. He was caught at the Jersey City Medical Hospital when police learned that he was asking about the victim

A 17-year-old Jersey City boy with suspected ties to the Bloods street gang has been charged with shooting a Jersey city woman in the head at a boarding house off Journal Square on Thursday, police said.

According to reports, the victim was rushed to the Medical Center where she began having seizures and was placed in an induced coma.

A 23-year old woman is in a coma at Jersey City Medical Center after she had been shot by a man wearing ski mask in what “appears to be a robbery” according to the news. The incident happened on the 3rd floor of a boarding house at Academy Street and Baldwin Avenue.

A 23-year-old Jersey City woman is in a coma after being shot in the head during what appears to have been a robbery in a city boarding house Thursday night, authorities said.

Doctors induced the coma when the shooting victim began having seizures, officials said.

Police responding to the scene at Academy Street and Baldwin Avenue spoke to a friend of the victim who had heard the woman screaming on the third floor, reports said.

The friend told police that while running up the stairs, a man wearing a ski mask ran past her in the opposite direction, reports said. On the third floor she found the victim crawling on the floor with blood pouring from the gunshot wound in her temple, reports said.

The victim was still writhing and screaming for help when police arrived and she was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center, reports said.

Medical Center officials would not release her condition last night.
