Western Union on Bergen Avenue, just a couple of doors away from the defunct M&B Video at the corner of Vroom Street, has shut its door.
When I saw this tonight, I asked the lady inside what happened, and she answered that the business owners failed to pay the rent. Tough times.
For some good years, this place was a home to a Western Union, locksmith/key duplication, mailboxes, photocopy, money orders, and notary public.
Expect the “FOR RENT/LEASE” sign to be up soon. Which Journal Square business do you think will be hit by the recession bug?
