7-Eleven on the boulevard. Taken Sept 2010.
This is the newest 7-Eleven (7-11) store in Journal Square. It opened sometime in October 2010, less than a year after the first 7-11 opened in December 2009 at the corner of Sip Avenue and Bergen Avenue.

Here’s a welcome addition to Journal Square: Zeytinia Gourmet Market opens today (May 21, 2010) at CANCOlofts. The grand opening is set for 5 pm today with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Mayor Healy, Ward C councilwoman Nidia Lopez and others, as reported by the Jersey City Independent.

Sign is gone, shutters are down.
Seems like Vito’s Arcade Barbershop on Summit Avenue near Five Corners is gone. Earlier this week, I saw the sign on the ground in front of the closed shop. I drove by the other day, saw the sign gone. Barbershop still shut.

APNA BAZAAR Cash and Carry finally opened yesterday (May 6, 2010) after what seems an eternity of building construction. This Apna Bazaar is different from the one on Newark Avenue, just a couple of blocks north of Indian Square.
