7-11-2011: Free Slurpee at 7-Eleven Jersey City

Today marks the 84th Birthday of 7-Eleven, which means Free Slurpee for everyone!

We have three 7-11 stores here in Jersey City, two of them are in Journal Square: one at the corner of Sip and Bergen Avenues across the PATH Station, and one on the boulevard between St. Pauls Avenue and Route 139. The third store is on Tonnelle Avenue next to 555 Market.

Each customer will receive 7.11-ounce frozen Slurpee drink served in a special cup. You can get refills according to the personnel at Sip/Bergen branch. However, the staff on 7-11 JFK and 7-11 Tonnelle don’t have any idea why slurpees are free today. Maybe they’re not participating? Make sure to give them a call before you go to those branches.

Take advantage of the free slurpee, it is perfect for today’s hot weather! Enjoy it while it lasts, it’s not free tomorrow!

For Sale: Casio Exilim 10MP Digital Camera (Used, AS IS)

I’m just doing a friend of mine a favor. He wants to sell his used camera – AS IS – which already includes the accessories such as the memory card, card reader, and case. He didn’t give me the box nor the USB cable.

The camera is a good one (10 megapixels), and takes nice pictures as well. It is ready to use, no setup necessary. There are just a few scratches on the outer circle around the lens. Those are minor and do not affect the image quality. Sample photos are available inside this post.

Real Face of Jesus Christ?

I have seen this special the first time it aired on the History Channel. The controversial Shroud of Turin was used to digitize the portrait of Jesus Christ. I must say that the 3D representation looks like the Jesus that I have always envisioned. The video clip above also shows different reactions from people who saw the 3d image of Jesus.

Is T-Mobile Network Down?

Do you have T-Mobile as your phone carrier? Right now, their network is down and a lot of people do not have service. Family friends who own a cellular phone here in Jersey City are calling from house to house due to this inconvenience. I just came from (JFK Airport) New York, and I thought the mobile coverage is just poor.

T-mobile’s website doesn’t say anything, and a google search shows no result as of the moment.

[update] At 7:10PM, my cell phone shows full signal bars. T-Mobile is back up. Thank God.

Fall Back 1 Hour as Daylight Saving Time Ends

Just a short post to remind us that before going to bed this Saturday night, we have to set back our clocks one hour as Daylight Saving Time ends on Nov. 1 (Sunday) at 2AM. I am going to enjoy this “extra hour” of sleep we’re going to gain by moving our clock one hour back.

If you are a Sunday church-goer, better adjust your clock Saturday night or you’ll be too early for mass the next morning!

Free KFC Grilled Chicken Monday

Kentucky Fried Chicken is once again offering their Grilled Chicken for free today (Monday, October 26, 2009). The first time they did this, Oprah Winfrey promoted it and it got a lot of hype. Have you tried this before?

If you are a new Journal Square or 07306 resident, you will not be able to find a KFC fast food within the area, since it was previously located on the square at the ground floor of the demolished hotel in front of the fountain. The closest KFC here is on Communipaw Avenue, Jersey City. Call them at (201)433-1151.
