Two accidents: Same time, different places Some weird accidents happened just about ten minutes ago on Bergen Avenue. Police, firemen, and Emergency units responded to two incidents at around 10:37 this morning. A middle-aged woman of Indian descent fell off while crossing Bergen Avenue at the corner of Academy Street in front of C-Town Supermarket. I [...] Saw police cars on my way to the laundromat on Bergen. Apparently, there’s an accident at JFK Boulevard and Newark Avenue, north of Journal Square PATH station. Saw this terrible news this morning on TV — a plane (Continental Flight 3407) that took off from Newark International Airport crashed just before midnight in Buffalo, New York. 49 people were reportedly killed (44 passengers, 4 crew members, 1 on ground). Below is a short video (2mins) of the commuter plane’s wreckage on fire: [...] Heard it on the scanner… “pedestrian struck, vroom and bergen…” It’s the reason why we hear ambulance at around 910PM in Journal Square. I was informed that the victim was a female, and she was “sitting” on the curb. Sounds like a minor injury, but I am not so sure. No update yet from the scanner… [...] |
