Jersey City Event: Navratri Festival in India Square

The Indian community on Newark Avenue will be holding their Navratri Festival this week and the following week. The streets will be blocked off and a stage will be installed. Expect cultural dances and Indian food until wee hours.

If you’ve walked along Newark Avenue, you probably have seen this plant/flower boxes installed at the cross-streets. The photos above (taken last month, Jul 29) are flower boxes from India Square, between JFK and Tonnelle Avenue.

A new vegetarian restaurant opens in India Square on Newark Avenue, according to The Village Voice blog. Should be a nice addition to Journal Square.
