Journal Square Biz: Tiffin Box Jersey City, Gone?

Tiffin Box on the Boulevard

So, does anyone know what happened to Tiffin Box on John F. Kennedy Boulevard? The sign says it is under construction, but I don’t know for sure if another restaurant/fast food will occupy this site.

Tiffin Box Jersey City started just last summer, replacing American Hero, which moved just across the street (next to Salt and Pepper Grill). I’ve heard mixed reviews about Tiffin Box, but it’s a shame it didn’t even last a year if they’re permanently closed.

A new vegetarian restaurant opens in India Square on Newark Avenue, according to The Village Voice blog. Should be a nice addition to Journal Square.

…It occupies a rather grand space a few steps up from the colorful hubbub of Newark Avenue, where greengrocers hawk vegetables unfamiliar to Westerners, vendors roll unguent spice combinations into betel leaves, and shops display the gold jewelry that constitutes an Indian bride’s dowry…

Taj Mahal: When Will It Open?

One of the Journal Square local businesses I’ve been watching is Taj Mahal. Why? Because the place has been under construction for 8 months already.

Taj Mahal - Summit Avenue Entrance

This afternoon, I noticed that the front of the restaurant on Summit Avenue has been painted in white. Compare the pics with JCRegister Taj Mahal post. I was in the area last Sunday, and I noticed the lights inside were on. Perhaps the restaurant is really opening soon?
