2009: 2 Murders in JSQ (28 in Jersey City)

In 2008, there was zero murder here in Journal Square. Last year (2009), there were two – one in Marion Neighborhood, and the other just a couple of blocks away.



Jersey City Event: Navratri Festival in India Square

The Indian community on Newark Avenue will be holding their Navratri Festival this week and the following week. The streets will be blocked off and a stage will be installed. Expect cultural dances and Indian food until wee hours.

Jersey City Schools Officially Start

Schools in Jersey City such as Martin Luther King, Jr. School (Bergen Ave) officially start today (September 10, 2009). Good luck students, and make this year a good one!
