The parking sign on this strip of Sip Avenue (between Bergen and JFK) right across Hudson County Community College Culinary Arts Plaza Park clearly indicates that nobody should park between 6AM and 9AM & 4PM and 6PM Monday thru Friday. About 4 cars received violations.

The funny thing is, a taxi driver was backing up attempting to park on a vacant metered spot while the police were writing tickets. Get a clue! (he wasn’t slapped with a ticket though, the police made him leave)

The driver of utility truck said his passenger was a paying customer “and that he had parked the truck there to fix the truck tire.”

The standoff lasted for 4 hours, news said, when the towing company let go the other vehicle.

I was in the vicinity (Pavonia Avenue) when this happened, but I missed it because I took JFK/Bergen when I walked back home.

Read the updated news from Hudson County Now News. Does the towing company have a case?

A standoff between a tow-truck driver and a man who refused to leave his utility truck ended at about 2:20 p.m., when the tow-truck driver, who would only gave his name as Hector, relented and allowed Carl Pinzon to leave.

Hector said E-Z Towing would be taking Pinzon to small claims court in order to get compensation for his time. Before letting Pinzon off the hook, he told him not to come back to Burger King again.

The other day, around 1030AM – 1100AM, I parked at the bus stop area near the Sneakers Center to wait for my party who were at the Post Office. Since they will only mail some letters, I turned the flasher on. In less than 5 minutes, a police officer tapped my window and gestured me that I may not park in the area. So I complied and drove away.

However, I saw this Jersey City car parked at another bus stop on Bergen Avenue in Journal Square section of JC, in front of Provident Bank.

How come the police officer let it go? Are city employees privileged to park at a no-parking zone such as the bus stops?

Meanwhile, on Academy Street, this old car was not only parked alone on one side (which is supposed to be unoccupied by cars), but it considerately took 75% of the sidewalk to give way to the passing cars. Way to go.
