If you’ve walked along Newark Avenue, you probably have seen this plant/flower boxes installed at the cross-streets. The photos above (taken last month, Jul 29) are flower boxes from India Square, between JFK and Tonnelle Avenue.

I’ve learned that the planting event last week, Saturday (May 9, 2009), on the square was a success. It was over when I came but I got the chance to meet Mr. Chris Bernardo, Operations Manager of Journal Square SID, and he shared some pictures of the event.

Jersey City’s Journal Square: Spring Clean-Up/Planting

This coming Saturday, there will be a clean-up and planting here in Journal Square. Community groups, along with district volunteers will clean the square and plant some flowers. Hopefully, the weather forecast is correct in saying that it will be a good day. (This week is sloppy!)
