Jersey City woman dead after 15-story fall from Newark Ave. building

A Jersey City woman died in a possible suicide after falling 15 floors from a Newark Avenue building Friday night, police said.

The woman fell at about 9:10 p.m. from the Summit Plaza building, where she lived, and landed “adjacent to the sidewalk” on Newark Avenue east of Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City spokesman Stan Eason said.

Police described the woman only as having adult children who do not live in Jersey City and said police were contacting them last night as the investigation continued.
