Heavy Traffic in Journal Square due to Suspicious Package

Just got home (6:06PM) from work after an hour drive — 30 minutes just on Summit Avenue alone! The traffic is all the way to the heights area (somewhere between Carlton and Troy Avenue). I sensed something was going on when cars were moving VERY slowly as  all intersections are jammed.

Road Closed: Five Corners Newark Avenue, JC

A small portion (Five Corners to Central Avenue) of Newark Avenue, Jersey City was blocked off to traffic this afternoon.

When I asked what’s going on, the sheriff patrolling the area told me that nothing happened, it’s just a construction in a restaurant.

Jersey City Street Closures: Bergen Avenue Closed

Electronic traffic advisory has been installed at the corner of Sip Avenue and Bergen informing drivers and motorists that Bergen Avenue will be closed today, October 17, 2009 from 10AM – 2PM.

No Parking rule on both sides of Bergen from Sip to Montgomery Street is to be enforced.
