Just got home (6:06PM) from work after an hour drive — 30 minutes just on Summit Avenue alone! The traffic is all the way to the heights area (somewhere between Carlton and Troy Avenue). I sensed something was going on when cars were moving VERY slowly as all intersections are jammed. Van Reipen and Pavonia Avenues [...] A small portion (Five Corners to Central Avenue) of Newark Avenue, Jersey City was blocked off to traffic this afternoon. When I asked what’s going on, the sheriff patrolling the area told me that nothing happened, it’s just a construction in a restaurant. Existing or a soon-to-open business, I didn’t bother to ask. But when [...] Electronic traffic advisory has been installed at the corner of Sip Avenue and Bergen informing drivers and motorists that Bergen Avenue will be closed today, October 17, 2009 from 10AM – 2PM. No Parking rule on both sides of Bergen from Sip to Montgomery Street is to be enforced.
